               Schools:

The following criteria will be used to determine appropriateness:

A school that expresses and practices the knowledge that: "

LRE is not synonymous with inclusion. For what is deemed inclusion for one may be restrictive for another depending on what                they can tolerate. Also the term included does not imply choice or flexibility it is better to say non- exclusionary. "

LRE and inclusion is not the same as mainstreaming. The practice of Mainstreaming which is placing a student with                disabilities into a class with no accommodates is often claimed as inclusion and LRE. "

In order for LRE to be successful, they can not put the horse before the cart but must prepare and address the issues of                       all parties. This includes the teachers, other students, the families and the student with disabilities. And that practices and                supports and strategies are put in place to assure the continuity of the LRE practice's success. "

All parties needs should be respected and a collaborative effort to make this a positive and on going process. Coordinators                must exhibit the ability to think and use resources that are outside of the box. "
