Announcement In recognition of April as Autism Awareness Month The Philadelphia Right to Education Task Force wants to recognize
a teacher for his/her outstanding
services to children with disabilities:
Special Educator of
Students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder
Criteria: 1) Nominee must be an appointed Special
Education Teacher 2) Nominee must currently
teach full-time in a 3) Nominee must teach a
self contained Autistic Support Class (AS). 4) We are looking for teachers who go above and beyond the expectations of their job, who have improved the outcome and understanding of children with ASD, who have received praise from parents and/or students, and/or have implemented the least restrictive environment successfully. 5) Previous winners are not eligible

· In 300 words or less, write a narrative as to why the Task Force should select this teacher. Do not include in the narrative the names of the teacher, school, region or any other identifying information. (“The teacher has taught at her
school” as opposed to “Mrs.
Brown has taught at · Your name, telephone number, and your relationship to the nominee (Teacher, parent, etc). There can be only one
nomination per person, per category.
