Action Alert: Ask Congress to Fix "In the Home" Restriction!!!
Currently, Medicare will only cover a mobility device if an
individual needs it for use inside their homes. In other words, if
an individual is able to do without a wheelchair or scooter
inside, but needs such a device to go to work, school, the grocery
store, their place of worship, the pharmacy or their physician's
office, Medicare will NOT pay for it.

AUTISM SHARING AND PARENTING'S 2ND ANNUAL SUMMER RESOURCE FAIR
SATURDAY, AUGUST 11, PHILADELPHIA, PA
ASP is pleased to announce a summer resource fair, held at Finley Recreation Center in Mt Airy from 11AM -3pm.
Nationally renowned author and educator, Dr. Patrick Schwarz will present 3 different topics.
Ruth Landsman, of the Parent Exchange will hold an IEP Clinic, HeARTS for Autism will host an Art room and Peter Moses, the Music Experience for Young Children will be on hand along with face painting and raffles.
There will be representatives from Northwest homes, Ascend Philly, the School District of Philadelphia's Office of Specialized Services, The Philadelphia Right to Education Task Force,The Department of Behavioral Health, Potentials inc, The institute for Behavioral Change, Discovery toys, Variety Resource Center, Socialization Station, TLC Health Care, Little Wonders,
Child Growth & Development Center, Inc.
Resources and materials available will include updates from the National Autism
Conference, The ARC/ Philadelphia Developmental Disabilities association, Greater Philadelphia chapter of the Autism Society of America, Metro Kids and more!
Autism Sharing and Parenting is a volunteer run organization that provides a support system for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and their families by educating the under-informed and culturally diverse populations of Philadelphia and Montgomery county, advocating for individuals with ASD, and increasing awareness of Autism and Autism issues. Autism is a developmental disability that affects 1 in 150 children, 3 out of 4 of which are boys.
